It’s a full house for Nice clubs this weekend. Cavigal Basket wins and gets closer to its goal. At the same time, Nice Volley wins and finishes fourth, the Dolphins secure an important victory in Thonon-les-Bains and ONN’s water polo players defeat Douai.
Volleyball: Nice finishes the regular season well
Struggling for the past few weeks, Nice Volley played a perfect last match on the field of Maxéville-Nancy. The result is a 3-2 victory and especially a final fourth place that offers home advantage to Nice. Thanks to an outstanding performance by Mitrovic, Mladen Kasic’s men pulled off a small feat against the second team in the regular season. Thus, NVB finishes fourth and will face Alès this Friday at 8 pm for the first leg of the playoffs quarter-finals.

American Football: The Dolphins secure a third consecutive victory
The Nice Dolphins just keep going! Saturday night, in Thonon-les-Bains, Yannick Fattorini’s team won a third consecutive match 21-9, two months after the narrow 3-0 victory at home against the Black Panthers. An important win in the race for the semi-finals. With four games remaining, Nice sits third in the standings with an extra match. Next game, this Saturday at 7 pm at Stade des Arboras against the sixth-place Templiers d’Elancourt.
Basketball: The Niss’Angels give a lesson
Defeated in the first leg, Cavigal Basket wanted revenge against Charnay. Promise kept with a large 82-61 victory achieved in the second half, which allows them to keep the lead in Ligue Feminine 2. At halftime, the Bourgogne women were holding their own against the Nice team, who were missing their key inside player (44-39), the 2.04m tall Astan Dabo. Upon returning from the break, Rachid Méziane’s team pushed forward (61-50 in the 3rd quarter) before finishing in stride with a controlled final quarter (21-11). Next match, Saturday at 8 pm against Aulnoye, ranked 11th out of 13. At stake, remaining undefeated at home and continuing to lead the race to host the Final Four in early June.

Water Polo: The Nice team confirms their good form
ONN’s water polo players achieved a 14-9 victory on Saturday night in Douai, solidifying their third place in the standings. The Nice team won’t have much rest this week with a new match on Wednesday against Alès, fifth place, at 7 pm at Piscine Jean-Bouin. And on Saturday, it’s a face-off against Montpellier, in second place. With two victories from the postponed matches, ONN could catch up with Montpellier with only three matches left in the regular season.
