The creation of the Oasis Home, a care facility for adolescents in great difficulty, was authorized by the President of the General Council, within the scope of the Department’s responsibilities in the field of child welfare.
Thus, 14 adolescents can be accommodated, based on a decision by the juvenile judge, in this establishment annexed to the Montbrillant home, managed by the association “le Rayon de Soleil.”
A team of multidisciplinary professionals helps these young people suffering from conduct disorders, low self-esteem, and social or academic failure, to integrate into societal norms.
This new facility fully aligns with the departmental plan for children and families from 2009-2013, which identified the need to care for adolescents with significant social adaptation issues.
In 2012, the Department will allocate a budget of nearly 86 million euros for child welfare, including 1.5 million euros for the Oasis Home.
