In the context of the Region’s Climate Plan, a well-being barometer has been established.
This barometer was created through a methodology defined with experts, based on the prioritization of factual criteria as well as a survey conducted with IFOP to analyze the residents’ perceptions.
The Region thus scrutinized indicators related to the economy (business creation, unemployment rate), the environment (quality of bathing waters, proportion of natural spaces), mobility and air quality (CO2 emission, travel time), health, culture, and even safety.
These indicators, considered as influencing the well-being of the residents, were compared to national averages and position Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur well above the national level.
โWith 82% of the residents considering themselves satisfied with their own level of well-being, compared to 70% nationally, our South Provence-Alpes-Cรดte dโAzur region is at the top of the regions where life is good,โ announced Renaud Muselier, visibly very satisfied with this result.
He further analyzed the result: โOur territory offers us an exceptional and iconic living environment, between sea and mountains, with 25% natural parks, 50% wooded areas, and a record level of sunshine. I am committed to preserving this territory through the Climate Plan to which the Region devotes 20% of the 2018 budget, and more than a third by the end of the term. This plan positions us as an exemplary region in terms of environment and quality of life; the region with a COP advantage.โ
The President of the Regional Council commits to continuity: โWe have already observed an increase in some of these indicators for a year. The policy I am implementing will be closely aligned with the population’s expectations, and each year, the Region will publish these indicators to study the evolution of the level of well-being.โ
