What about the National Sports Museum in Nice?

Latest News

While the Minister of Culture has announced that she is abandoning cultural projects considered by the previous government, doubts still linger over the National Museum of Sport.

Ministerial sources reveal that the Ministry of Sports might not be able to fund certain measures due to a “hole” of 50 million euros in its budget, notably corresponding to commitments made by the previous government.

The primary concern is the National Museum of Sport, which houses 600,000 objects and documents and was relocated from Paris to Nice at a cost of 7.5 million euros.

musee-sport.jpg Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice and President of the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis, once again calls on the Government to honor its commitments.

“I have alerted the Minister about the issue of the National Museum of Sport that we are currently developing in Nice based on a clear and binding agreement for the State,” he said.

“In this case too, I am ready to consider in advance all necessary actions to prevent the State from reneging on its commitment of a 20 million euro subsidy for this stadium under construction for Euro 2016,” Christian Estrosi declared.

One of the flagship projects of the mayor of Niceโ€™s sports and event policy is starting to unravel… All concerns regarding this matter are more than legitimate.

While itโ€™s not yet an emergency, it seems wise to have a fire extinguisher within reach.

Besides, Mr. Estrosi is well acquainted with ministerial decision-making circuits!
