Theater: Totally Frozen … the show
Aline’s birthday is likely to be unforgettable. It all starts with a breakup message, but Aline’s troubles are far from over … A childhood friend and conspiracy theorist shows up unannounced, followed by Aline’s dear mother. Everyone thinks they’ll continue the day on their own. Yet, wild guests and explosive surprises will make this day totally unusual. Cinema: launch of the It’s Too Short Festival
The 26th edition begins with the European Short Film Festival, dedicated to young film creation. Every year, the general public has the opportunity to discover unique works, filled with creativity and originality. Four competitions are organized around the theme of the “traveler in trance” and migration in the Mediterranean. Nineteen European countries participate in these competitions. In Nice, this edition takes place until October 9.
The European Short Film Festival jury is made up in part of students, awarding their “Student Prize”. For 1 hour and 32 minutes, viewers will discover short films, with featured countries being Poland, Portugal, Belgium, Estonia and France.

Event: kickoff of the 2026 edition of the Imperial Days
Under the theme of Empires and Coups d’État, this weekend celebrates Nice’s heritage as an Imperial City. Meetings, exhibitions, concerts, reenactments and various historical activities will immerse visitors in the atmosphere of the First and Second Empire.
The opening of this new edition will be honored by the presence of Éric Ciotti, Mayor of Nice and President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, as well as Victor-André Masséna, Prince of Essling and President of the Napoleon Foundation. They will proceed with the official signing of the partnership agreement between the City of Nice and the Napoleon Foundation.

Concert: Orlando at the Opera
In two acts and a prologue, the daring and passionate work of Georg Friedrich Haendel will offer spectators a unique moment. Composed in 1733, this piece features few characters and tight action, involving love, jealousy, illusion, guilt leading to madness and fury. Directed by Mariame Clément and Jean-Christophe Spinosi as musical director, spectators will discover a hero torn between love and duty, for 2 hours and 45 minutes with a 20-minute intermission. The language is Italian, subtitled in French and English. By reservation, prices range from 12 to 94 euros.
An hour before the performance, the curious will have the opportunity to discover the work and its history, some musical reference points and the keys to understanding the workings of the production. Access is free for spectators with a ticket for the performance.

Event: the 4th edition of the Happy India Festival
Nice celebrates India and particularly honors Rajasthan, a region renowned for the richness of its heritage, traditions and expertise. Organized by Lez’arts Indiens and the Espace Magnan, these events are an opportunity to discover a rich culture in emblematic places in the Côte d’Azur city. The 2026 edition is sponsored by dancer and choreographer, Senu Sapera, and musician Anwar Hussain.
Under the High Patronage of the Embassy of India in Paris and the Consulate of India in Marseille, the program includes dance, music, cinema, exhibitions, gastronomy and more.

Show: the circus of Claude’s Theorem
Claude has decided to play with the laws of physics and especially acrobatics, alongside his two assistants, Hans and Janine. Under the guise of humor and acrobatics, the trio Les Triphasés demonstrates the importance of the bond and trust uniting Claude and his assistants. This performance is accessible to all audiences. Seating is free. Entry is by reservation and ranges from 12 to 16 euros.
Circus enthusiasts can participate in a workshop before the show begins. The price is 8 euros per person and 12 euros for parent/child duos.
