This weekend in Nice, make the most of your vacation by exploring the many activities and events the city has to offer. Whether you’re passionate about art, culture, or just looking for relaxation, Nice has plenty of options for all tastes. Here’s a summary of the activities to do.
Friday, July 12
Local pianist Steeve Villa Massone and his “Red Piano” invite you to an acoustic evening at the Jardin de Cessole – 153 boulevard Cessole, from 7 PM to 9:30 PM.
An open-air cinema will take place at Animanice Las Planas – 1 Rue Jean-Henri Fabre. The film: The Ascent: “A winter in 1942. The German army continues its advance on the Russian front. A Soviet battalion is forced to retreat in disarray. To ensure their supplies, two soldiers embark on a long journey through the forest…” At 8 PM (public opening) and 9:30 PM: the start of the screening.
The former bell tower of the Franciscan convent, now a clock tower, offers a unique 360° panorama of Nice and its hills. Fridays from 7 PM to 10 PM (last climb at 9:30 PM). And Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 5 PM. On reservation.
Saturday, July 13
You will be able to get into the intimacy of the Lascaris collections. Located at 15 rue Droite, the Palais Lascaris holds an eclectic collection related to the history of the creation of the museums of the City of Nice and its own past as a former residence.
From 10 AM to 7 PM, the graffiti artists of Whole Street invite nationally and internationally renowned artists to 109 for a big jam session. Together, they will create a 250-meter-long mural on the exterior wall, facing Verany.
For the little ones, come discover “Colors are happiness!” at the Théâtre l’Alphabet in Nice, designed for toddlers from 9 months to 3 years.
On Saturday at 2 PM, 3 PM, and 4 PM and on Sunday at 2 PM, 3 PM, and 4 PM, you will be able to visit the Archaeological Crypt. An underground 2,000 m² room located under boulevard Jean-Jaurès and place Garibaldi, along the Paillon river. Reservation required.
Sunday, July 14
Sunday, July 14, is a day of tribute and therefore without festivities. From 9 AM to 8 PM, the City of Nice invites you to visit the Quai des Etats-Unis to lay plaques in blue, white, and red colors to create an immense 170-meter-long message to be unveiled at 8 PM.
With a republican parade and a display of 86 light beams in memory of the victims of the July 14, 2016, attack. At 11:30 AM, there will be a ceremony in honor of the military, security, and emergency forces at Villa Masséna: 32-35 Promenade des Anglais
There will also be music with an orchestra tour by bicycle at the Théâtre de Verdure. At 9 PM, the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra concert will celebrate, ahead of schedule, the arrival of the Tour de France. The conductor Dylan Corlay, on his bike, will offer you a unique and free evening.
