Puccini’s Le Villi: A Lyric Event at the Nice Opera

The Nice Opera hosts a new production of Le Villi, Giacomo Puccini’s first opera, presented in a rare and ambitious version. A one-act opera-ballet, the work already concentrates all the dramatic and musical power of the composer, in a universe that is both poetic and supernatural.

The staging is by Stefano Poda, who also handles the sets, costumes, and lighting. The musical direction is entrusted to Valerio Galli, leading the Philharmonic Orchestra of Nice and the Choir of the Nice Opera. This production also stands out with the presence of actress Monica Guerritore, invited as narrator, bringing an extra dramatic dimension to the ensemble.

22nd Raid of French Emergency and SAMU Services

The city of Nice is hosting the 22nd edition of the SAMU and Emergency Services Raid starting Thursday, April 23, 2026, bringing together 120 participants from all over France. Doctors, nurses, caregivers, and medical regulation agents will compete for two days in strong sporting challenges: mountain biking, trail running at Mont Boron, and challenges scattered throughout the city and its surroundings.

The event also highlights Nice’s heritage, with routes passing through the Promenade des Anglais, Old Nice, Cap de Nice, and Col d’Èze, while some stages remain secret. Supported by the city of Nice and several institutional partners, the raid will conclude with a gala evening, celebrating team spirit and participant solidarity.

Murmuration Level 2: The Choreographic Phenomenon Returns on Tour

The show Murmuration Level 2 is the new version of the phenomenon created by Sadeck Berrabah, already seen by more than 210,000 spectators worldwide! Known for his viral choreographies and collaborations with international artists like Shakira, Chris Brown, or the Black Eyed Peas, Sadeck Berrabah offers a unique concept mixing hip-hop, martial arts, contemporary dance, ballet, and visual arts.

On stage, 50 dancers execute geometrically precise scenes, with an impressive synchronization that has become the project’s signature. After a triumphant tour and sold-out venues in France, Murmuration continues its success with this new version.

Murmuration Level 2 offers both iconic sequences and new creations, enriched by a new light set-up, for an immersive and spectacular experience.

GR Very Nice: The International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament Returns to Nice

The ASPTT Nice Côte d’Azur club is organizing a new edition of the GR Very Nice, an international rhythmic gymnastics tournament taking place from April 24 to 26, 2026, in Nice, at the UFR STAPS gymnasium. Now a well-established event, this competition will host nearly 300 gymnasts from 20 nations, from the United States, Europe, and the Middle East, confirming the event’s international stature! 

The stated goal is to promote rhythmic gymnastics, a discipline combining grace, precision, and virtuosity, through a completely free and public event. Over three days, audiences can enjoy high-level performances in a sporty and friendly atmosphere. An event that once again confirms Nice as a welcoming place for major sports competitions!

Spring of the Kids: An Unmissable Family Event

As part of the school holiday festivities, the city of Nice celebrates the return of the Spring of the Kids, running until April 25, 2026. For this 17th edition, families are invited to enjoy a rich and varied program throughout the city: shows, workshops, camps, and educational activities brighten up these two weeks dedicated to the young audience.

The closing day will be held on Saturday, April 25 at Parc du Ray, with a large free outdoor party: stories, magic, theater, puppets, and science activities will be part of the program. On-site dining and picnic opportunities within the park.

Candlelight: Tribute to Hans Zimmer, Candlelight Magic on the Promenade

The Candlelight format comes to Nice for an intimate musical evening dedicated to one of the greatest film score composers: Hans Zimmer. In the elegant setting of the Westminster Hotel & Spa on the Promenade des Anglais, a string quartet revisits the composer’s iconic themes, from Time (Inception) to Gladiator, including Pirates of the Caribbean, Interstellar, Dune or The Dark Knight.

The event takes place in a candlelit atmosphere, offering an immersive and warm experience, far from traditional large concert formats. The show lasts about an hour and is accessible for children from 8 years old, with seating done by arrival order according to the reserved category.

The immersive show LUMINISCENCE settles into the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Nice with a new creation titled Celestial Odyssey, a visual and musical experience already seen by over a million spectators.

In a 360° format, the basilica transforms thanks to a 3D video mapping that enhances its architecture, from pillars to vaults. The ensemble is accompanied by the music of the Slovak National Philharmonic Orchestra, offering total immersion in this emblematic heritage site.

Two versions are available: a Choral Live version on Fridays and Saturdays with the Camerata Apollonia choir, and a Digital Music version available on Thursdays. The show lasts about 45 minutes and is accessible to all audiences.

La Vaisselle des Chefs Stops for the First Time

For the first time in Nice, La Vaisselle des Chefs takes place on April 25 and 26 at the OCÉANICE Congress Center. This eco-friendly event offers a large sale of items from prestigious houses: crockery, glassware, cutlery, and even exceptional pieces from palaces and starred restaurants of the French Riviera.

Among the participating establishments are iconic names like Le Negresco, the Hôtel Martinez, and the Byblos Saint-Tropez, offering the public the opportunity to acquire historically rich pieces at accessible prices.

This is an original outing idea for gastronomy and table art enthusiasts, between bargains and responsible consumption, with part of the proceeds donated to charity.

9th Edition of the Play Azur Festival: Pop Culture Arrives in Nice

The Play Azur Festival is making its grand return to Nice on April 25 and 26, 2026, for a 9th edition that promises once again to be an unmissable event for pop culture on the French Riviera.

Held at the Palais des Expositions in Nice, the festival expects more than 25,000 visitors around a world blending geek, pop culture, and sciences. The program includes meetings with guests, stands, activities, and more than 300 free activities spread across 7 thematic areas (mangas, video games, cosplay, cinema/series, sciences, Asia, and e-sport).

Among the already announced guests, Donald Reignoux, an iconic voice in French dubbing, will be present alongside Fred of the Dead and comedian Sushi Nihiliste, with other personalities to come in the following weeks.

A new addition for the 2026 edition: the introduction of VIP Silver and Gold Packs, including exclusive products and special experiences like lotteries for photos with guests in signing sessions.

In&Out 2026: The Queer Cinema Festival Celebrates 18 Years in Nice

The In&Out Cinematographic Encounters return to Nice from April 23 to May 4, 2026, for an 18th edition dedicated to queer cinema, blending creation, commitment, and diversity.

Amid a perceived more uncertain backdrop, the festival asserts its political role by providing a space of freedom and reflection around LGBTQIA+ narratives. This edition is accompanied by two exhibitions: Out of Body at the Espace à vendre gallery and Nice Queer: A Story to Write at 109, dedicated to the history of local LGBTQIA+ communities.

On the cinema side, the program includes twelve premieres, tributes to Hélène Hazera and Lionel Soukaz, as well as thematic focuses on queer animation cinema and LGBTQIA+ migrations. The short film format is also highlighted with the “Queer-Métrage” Night and several creation workshops.

Among the screenings at the Jean-Paul Belmondo cinema: Fantasy (April 24), Drunken Noodles (April 25), and Chuck Chuck Baby (April 26), three films that explore themes of desire, identity, and rebuilding.
