The city of Nice is launching the third edition of its Christmas tree collection. Twelve drop-off points will be available to residents from January 8 to 21, 2025. The collected trees will be recycled into compost.
After the success of previous editions, the city of Nice is renewing its tree collection operation. In 2023, 19.5 tons were collected, compared to 44 tons in 2024. Pierre-Paul Lรฉonelli, the deputy mayor in charge of cleanliness, hopes to double this figure in 2025: “We want to offer a simple and practical solution to the people of Nice while combating illegal dumping.”
Twelve fenced enclosures will be accessible in different neighborhoods of the city. Deposits can also be made at the thirteen waste disposal sites in the metropolitan area, three of which are in Nice. Note that artificial trees are not accepted in these enclosures and must be taken directly to a waste disposal site.
