Why does Nice often face the last opponents of Olympique Lyonnais?

While casually examining the schedule for the upcoming Ligue 1, we noticed a certain recurrence in the order of some championship matches.

Indeed, the Nice eagles often face teams that have just played their previous match against Olympique Lyonnais. Knowing how challenging it is to play against the five-time champions of France, it indeed raises the question about the disadvantage of playing a team which, in the best-case scenario, has managed to secure a draw against the formidable Lyon, starting this season off with a bang.

The sequence begins on the first day where Nantes hosts Lyon, while the following week, the Nantes canaries will challenge the eagles at the Stade du Ray.

Next, Lyon – Toulouse (2nd day) followed by Toulouse – Nice (3rd day), the direct confrontation Nice – Lyon (4th day), then we go to Bordeaux – Lyon (3rd day) followed by Bordeaux-Nice (5th day).

Lyon will host Troyes during the 5th day and these same Trojans will host the Nice team once again just the day after.

A 7th day with Lyon – Lille leads to an 8th day with Lille – Nice.
Marseille – Lyon is scheduled for the 10th day followed by a relentless Nice – Marseille during the 11th day.
A 20th day enhanced by Toulouse – Lyon while on the 21st, there is an astonishing Nice… Toulouse. We continue then with Troyes – Lyon (23rd day) followed by a Nice – Troyes (24th day)…

Certainly, this is probably just a pure coincidence, and far be it from us to imagine another “plot” against OGC Nice like last year’s national press or SNCF, but it remains nonetheless that meeting players who have crossed paths with President Aulas’s men does not offer a great advantage.

So, that’s the little story of a schedule that the team at Nice Première will try to decipher and understand its setup procedures.

What “noses” these from Nice are!
