For Christian Tordo, president of the Public Development Authority of the National Interest Operation: “The Eco-Valley has now entered the operational phase, and the public development authority of the Var Plain is pursuing a high level of environmental demand, as well as urban and architectural quality.”
With this preamble and objective, public and private economic stakeholders (investors, builders, and landlords) have committed to eco-exemplarity in the approach to urban development of this area by signing a charter of commitment to environmental quality.
A commitment, it should be noted, that is voluntary and could constitute, according to Prefect Mirmande’s wishes, “an example of green growth, a laboratory exporting solutions.”
Additionally, there will be an Advisory Committee that will also gather key stakeholders, local residents, and associations for the protection of the area and its biodiversity.
The frame of reference will need to adapt projects to the level of exemplarity* and guide the actors from the design to the realization of developments and constructions.
For the designer and mastermind of this operation, Christian Estrosi: “The Eco-Valley will be a new economic start for Nice, which can undertake a new phase of its development and gain greater visibility abroad thanks to a new living and working environment.”
