From February 27 to March 4, 2012, His Majesty will reign over the 128th edition of the Nice Carnival, the most important event on the French Riviera in winter.
From February 27 to March 4, the 2012 Carnival and its parades, enhanced by the gigantic decorations of Place Massรฉna, will parade through the azure capital. This year they will consist of 20 floats telling the story of the “King of Sport”. This year the arrival of the King will be accompanied by a thousand children from the city’s schools! These giant and colorful parades, held during the day or night, will feature over 1,000 musicians and dancers from around the world. Carnavalesque parade in the afternoon or Illuminated parade in the evening as you wish!

In a unique setting, the Promenade des Anglais, the elegant flower battles will be a must-see component of the Carnival. On floats decorated with the most beautiful floral arrangements, characters dressed in extravagant costumes throw mimosa, gerberas, lilies… to the public. Today, this event highlights the quality and great floral variety of the French Riviera, as 85% of the flowers used are locally produced.

Of course, many other events will take place throughout these 15 days in the city of Nice! Street arts will invigorate the processions by combining their universe and imagination with all the residents of the French Riviera.
The Albert 1st Garden will offer a space dedicated to children with various free activities: face painting, mask and kite creation, stories, and shows… from 11 am to 5 pm, every day.
