Until spring 2018, visitors can discover two exhibitions at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Nice (Place Yves Klein-Nice) and at the Ponchettes Gallery (77 Quai des États-Unis).
Renaud Auguste-Dormeuil – If It Had to Be Done Again
From January 27 to June 17, visitors can discover Renaud Auguste-Dormeuil’s exhibition at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Nice.
Since the mid-1990s, the artist has been questioning the construction of the image, considered in its public and political space.
Through various methods of public participation, this exhibition is manifested by several subtle or spectacular events, and it is through the installation of “When the Paper” displayed throughout the duration of the project, inviting several visitors to write their dissolved thoughts among several other confidants.
Inspired by a Japanese ritual, this is a way of forging a connection with the museum while leading the public to a sensory experience.
Between Man and Nature
Dominique Ghesquière is invited by the MAMAC to take over the Ponchettes Gallery until June 3.
Discover a world very close to the tradition of Japanese borrowed landscapes, the shakkei, and dry gardens blending fidelity, landscape capture, nature reproduction, and the quest for the quintessence of natural spaces.
The idea of nature and the presence of man form an area of exploration for the artist, thus creating ephemeral landscapes.
He plays with the spectator so that they deploy their perception in the space of mutant and hybrid species of elements to create confusion between the natural and the manufactured.
