In the first leg, Emilie Petiteau Silbande’s teammates were defeated 76 to 67.
Just as victory has eluded them on the road lately, we hope that defeat does the same at home so that we can maintain our invincibility at the Leyrit hall while once again bringing down one of the “big guns” of the championship.
To achieve this, the Nice coach can rely on a squad that has proven its worth in previous matches. The Top 4 has somewhat slipped away, but our players will nonetheless be eager, for this penultimate home game, to once again show their loyal supporters a great performance, in line with what has been delivered since (almost) the beginning of the season.
We will have the pleasure of having the players of the A.N.I.C.E.S. TORBALL association of Nice cheering for us this Saturday!
A presentation of their team will be made during the match, and they will invite all the Nice basketball spectators to their international TORBALL tournament, which will take place on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at the St Barthélémy gym from 8:30 am to 6 pm.
What is torball?
Derived from the rehabilitation of German soldiers who became blind during World War II, later transformed into a sport, torball appeared in France in the 1970s.
Torball, (pronounced “torballe” like handball), is a ball sport played by visually impaired men, women, or children.
It is played with two teams of three players whose objective is to score a goal against the opposing team by throwing a sound-emitting ball exclusively by hand, making it pass under three cords stretched across the court.
Due to the silence requirements during a match, this sport can only be played indoors in a gymnasium…
Long live the athletes of Nice and their supporters without exception!
