The jury of the second edition of the photo contest (Raoul Mille, Michel Comboul, Laurence Genevet, Gilbert Grisoni, Claude-Henri Menu, Marcel Jolibois, Nathalie Daviet, Stรฉphane Chinelli, Marie-Chantal Gomiz, and Vincent de Chavanes) awarded the first prize to Georges Bouyx, a young amateur photographer, currently at the IUFM in Draguignan. The jury had to decide among more than 320 photos. Somewhat surprised by the award, he humbly explains his photo of a woman: “I got the idea for this shot when meeting a friend of my brother. She inspired me. She exuded a lot of sensuality. I wanted to photograph her.” Simple talent. Photography out of passion, subtly driven by desire: “I’m not a snap-happy shooter. I don’t always carry my camera with me. I notice something interesting and then construct the image around it. That’s my method.”
Georges wins a camera. He will take the opportunity to try out the digital adventure and occasionally set aside analog. He also receives a trip for two to Ibiza. The 2nd prize goes to Serge Nerin, the 3rd to Franck Faubel, and Laurent Martinez receives the special prize.
The photographs are of quality and all represent a sensitivity, character, or emotions exclusively feminine. They highlight the beauty and gentleness of women. The contest, for its second edition, is a success and should continue for, why not, becoming a must on the French Riviera.
