Latest News

Wednesday, September 21 and Thursday, September 22

On Wednesday, September 21 at 2:30 PM in the Palm Beach parking lot, there will be a kite release (slow brains) by patients, caregivers, volunteers, and children. These kites will have been decorated by children from recreation centers, as well as by patients and residents of nursing homes, day centers, and sheltered accommodations.

This event is organized in partnership with Alzheimer Trait d’Union, the Monaco Association for Research on Alzheimer’s Disease, France Alzheimer, the GIP CANNES BEL AGE, the CLIC, and the Cannes Hospital Center.

A conference on supporting patients in daily life through stimulating activities will also be held at 3:30 PM at the Carnot Bel Age Club, located at 28 Avenue du Petit Juas. It will be presented by the mobile Alzheimer’s team with the participation of Dr. Jean-Pierre Polydor, President of the Alzheimer Trait d’Union Association, and the France Alzheimer 06 Association.

On September 22, 2011, at 11:00 AM, the first therapeutic garden in France, intended for Alzheimer’s patients and their caregivers within a non-medical public space, will be inaugurated at Noailles Media Library. This garden is incorporated within a garden open to the public, rather than within a hospital facility or a retirement home.

Its name “Aloïs – Noailles” has been chosen in honor of Dr. Aloïs Alzheimer, who discovered the disease in 1906.

It is a therapeutic garden aimed at stimulating the senses, memories, and facilitating communication. Fragrant plants, aromas, and dipping toasts are gathered along a path within the splendid garden of the Noailles Media Library.

It is designed especially for people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease but also pertains to other neurodegenerative diseases.
