As part of World Cancer Day on February 4th, the Antoine Lacassagne Center is organizing a day of awareness and information. Information booths and workshops open to everyone have been set up from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in Building A, 33 Avenue de Valombrose, in Nice.

For better prevention and management of cancer, the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), is organizing a day focused on this disease.

The goal is to raise awareness and encourage mobilization. Information booths run by professionals were available throughout the afternoon for better understanding of cancer.

The topics presented by the booths were accompanied by activities: health through balanced nutrition with tasting of fresh fruit and vegetable juices, the journey of an autografted patient at the Center with awareness of bone marrow donation.

Other topics were offered such as: “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Hormone Therapy,” “Taking Care of My Arm After Breast Surgery.”

Cancer affects approximately 355,000 people per year in France, a number that increases every year. This disease is the leading cause of mortality worldwide.
