– Promote the development of new ecosystems

The General Council of Alpes-Maritimes manages the three protected marine zones of Golfe-Juan, Beaulieu-sur-Mer, and Roquebrune Cap Martin, which were supplemented in 2009 by the zone of Cagnes-sur-Mer.

More than 16,000 m3 of artificial reefs have been submerged within the 134 protected hectares to reproduce the rugged relief of rocky seabeds, conducive to the development of fauna and flora.

These zones are closed to diving, anchoring, and fishing.
A strong commitment to coastal protection

During this visit, the various actions undertaken by the Department in favor of coastal preservation will also be presented to you.

In conjunction with a diver, underwater images of the protected marine zone will be broadcast live on a boat off Golfe-Juan. To better plan the rotations, we kindly ask you to confirm your presence with the press contact.
