Through this event, Mr. Christian Estrosi, Secretary of State in charge of Overseas France, president of the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes, aims to offer residents and tourists a unique opportunity to meet writers and exchange dreams and thoughts with them on the magical power of words.
The territory of the Alpes-Maritimes has long been a land of writers. From Cocteau to Gary, from Tchekhov to Nietzsche, from Maupassant to Fitzgerald, these places have been, for each of them and many others, a land of welcome and encounters.
This tradition continues with the Nights of Writers, which invite the public to meet Richard Bohringer, Guy Carlier, Catherine Laborde, Henri Loevenbruck, Chantal Desbordes, Philippe Frey, Janine Boissard, Denis Seznec, Jean-François Derec… more than seventy writers, authors of comics or children’s books, who will each participate in two or three evenings, composing a different panel each night.
In a friendly and festive atmosphere, the public will be able to purchase books, of course, but also and above all to discuss: signings, meetings, debates, public readings, street performances…
Over ten evenings, the authors will settle in ten municipalities of the department:
- Wednesday, July 18 in Saint-Paul, from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
- Thursday, July 19 in Tourrette-Levens, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
