A hard blow for Stade Niรงois. The second row Yann Tivoli is about to leave the Cรดte d’Azur at the end of the season.

Indispensable in the starting fifteen of the Niรงois team, Yann Tivoli is set to leave the Azur club at the end of the season. The solid second row (1.95m, 106kg) has indeed signed with Aurillac (Pro D2) for the upcoming season. This opportunity was hard to pass up for this player who has never experienced professional rugby. “The club contacted me at the end of last year through my agent. I was honored. It’s an incredible opportunity for me to play in Pro D2. Stade Aurillacois is a reliable team in this championship,” explains Yann Tivoli, in an interview with Actu.fr.

Originally from the Southeast of France, the 29-year-old player has notably played for Dax and Grasse. He joined Stade Niรงois in 2018. This season, he plays a key role in the setup put in place by coaches David Bolgashvili and Martin Jagr. Regularly starting, he has very interesting mobility for the second-row position. He is also a very important element of the Niรงois lineout.

“Why not, next season, a Pro D2 match between Nice and Aurillac?”

Stade Aurillacois is currently 9th in the French Pro D2 Championship. If the Cantal team manages to secure their place in the second division (which seems likely), Yann Tivoli should be able to discover professional rugby. A reward for the player: “I see it as a great opportunity to play at this level. Itโ€™s a significant challenge and test, but I am ready. I also owe it to my current club.” Stade Niรงois is gearing up for an exciting end to the season.

The Azur club, well-positioned to qualify for the Nationale playoffs, hopes to secure a ticket to move up to Pro D2. “For now, I’m focusing on my club. And why not, next season, a Pro D2 match between Nice and Aurillac, that would be a nice twist of fate,” hints Yann Tivoli. That would be excellent news for Stade Niรงois. Meanwhile, before recruiting Yann Tivoli’s successor, the Azur club should be able to count on its second row this Saturday, during the home game against Massy.
