There will undoubtedly still be protesters in Paris (or in Versailles, a more symbolic location) this Saturday, but it is mainly in the provinces and at the borders (to block trucks) – the Menton-Vintimille border being one of the most favored – that the Yellow Vests want to stage the sixth act of the movement.
Admittedly, the mobilization seems to be losing momentum, and during the week, law enforcement managed to clear numerous roundabouts that mainly serve as television sets for news channels and reduce the number of filter barricades where a minimum number of protesters cause maximum traffic jams… all in the name of the people!
But the die-hards are not giving up, quite the contrary: some of them do not want to abandon the protagonist role they have acquired and return to anonymity, and then… the fire-stokers are still at work.
So, the crisis is not over.
Initially, the most resilient will spend Christmas at the roundabout as suggested by Jean-Luc Mélenchon (who will stay warm), and then the yellow fever could return in full force in January.
