Yom Hashoah takes place every year in Israel and around the world. This ceremony pays tribute to the 6 million Jews who died during World War II, victims of the Nazis and their collaborators.

In the presence of civil and religious authorities and various Jewish associations, this ceremony took place in silence and emotion, in the late afternoon, at the Israeli cemetery of the Château.

This commemoration, organized by Yad Vashem in partnership with the Consistory.

The ceremony followed the usual protocol: the lighting of 6 candles in front of the Wall of the Righteous by former deportees, the reading of the names of Jewish children deported from Nice, prayers by Rabbi Teboul, and a moment of silence and song.

The speeches by Daniel Wancier, President of the Committee for Yad Vashem Nice Côte d’Azur, Jérôme Culioli, President of CRIF Southeast, Maurice Niddam, President of the Nice Consistory, Patrick Allemand, 1st Vice-President of the Regional Council, Eric Ciotti, President of the General Council, and Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice and President of the Metropolis concluded the official part.

What remains is the emotion and commotion of these poignant moments where humanitarian spirit takes precedence over any other feeling.
