To help those aged 16 to 25 find their paths. Emmanuel Macron is focusing on the “youth engagement contract.” This project has been praised by Christian Estrosi, the mayor of the city of Nice.
The @VilledeNice and the @MetropoleNCA will be present to support this measure. I will propose a system to increase assistance for eligible young people who commit to local interest work related to our communities #ContratEngagementJeune

“I will always prefer this logic of responsibility over abandoning our most vulnerable youth, leaving some to fall into welfare dependency, hidden work, or even trafficking. I regret the sterile criticisms of those who have never proposed anything,” explains Christian Estrosi, expressing his support for the president on his Twitter account.
“The confinement generation can be one of renewed momentum,” announces Emmanuel Macron. “Supporting and revealing a future perspective for young people without jobs or training is the goal of the youth engagement contract.”
As a reminder, the program is aimed at those aged 16 to 25, who, in exchange for 15 to 20 hours of training per week, will receive an allowance of 500 euros per month. The program lasts for one year.
To benefit from the allowance, one must demonstrate “attendance and acceptance of the job offers made.”
If I am writing to you today, it’s to address the younger generations.
For you, we are launching the Youth Engagement Contract. My message: [link]

525,000 contracts were signed last year, and 3 million young people found an internship, training, or employment through the “1 young person, 1 solution” platform.
“This engagement contract complements and simplifies several programs aimed at young people to provide better training and support towards the working world,” highlights the president.
Last July, Emmanuel Macron announced the implementation of an “engagement income,” which eventually turned into an “engagement contract.” Very similar to the youth guarantee, the measure is far from unanimous and is considered insufficient.
Apparently, the government has modified its terms to avoid encouraging what it describes as “welfare dependency.” The program will begin on March 1, 2022.
