Young UDI: The reform of the school system deserves consensus and a major national debate.

Latest News

Without any respect for the teaching world, for the lifestyles of parents, or for the work of municipalities, the Government is revolutionizing the organization of the school week and triggering an unprecedented wave of protest.

rythmes_scolaires-4.jpg With the addition of Wednesday morning classes, contrary to the recommendations of experts, our children will continue to spend just as much time in school. This change in the weekly schedule will result in a surge of local taxes since municipalities will have to mobilize at least 600 million euros to address these new expenses.

At the UDI, we are convinced that it is urgent to act in depth and not through minor adjustments aimed at enhancing a political personality, and that it is imperative to:

• adapt the School of the Republic to the demands of a changing world

• reorganize our educational system with the objective of valuing and ensuring the success of each student to facilitate their integration into the professional world • restore respect and consideration to teachers as well as the entire educational community

This project of a school capable of showcasing the talent of each child is essential and it must be based on a logic of consultation both with the actors of national education and with the entire Nation.

This is why the UDI calls for holding an EDUCATION GRENELLE, the only way to hope for a profound and consensual change. The re-foundation of the school requires respect; the minister must set an example by ending unconsulted announcements.

By defending consensus and not division, refusing to stigmatize teachers in both the school rhythm reform and the announcement of shortening school holidays.
