ZEFESTIVAL, it’s the big day.

Latest News

Born in 2008 in Nice, Zefestival* – which integrated the former “REFLETS” festival from Marseille in 2012 – offers films addressing lesbian, gay, bi, and trans issues. It enjoys growing fame, particularly thanks to the large audience it gathers and its close collaboration with the cultural affairs departments of the cities of Nice and Marseille.

Thanks to its progressive expansion into several cities, this festival organized by the cultural association Polychromes, the LGBT film festival, has now become an event in the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region!

ZEFESTIVAL aims to present, once again this year, premieres, unreleased films not available in mainstream circuits, and its selection team has reached out to major international festivals.

Whether it’s through humor with comedies or other film genres with less “light” subjects, this year’s proposed programming will be eclectic and very international, with a selection of 28 films from all countries: French, Brazilian, Italian, Chilean, Argentine, Belgian, Iranian, Israeli, German, Polish, USA films.

France will be represented by the Palme d’Or from the 2013 Cannes festival “La Vie d’Adèle” by Nice-born director Adellatif Kéchiche and by “Les Garçons et Guillaume, à table!” by Guillaume Gallienne.

At a time when European societies are tempted by community or nationalist withdrawals, ZEFESTIVAL aims to contribute to promoting values of openness, tolerance, humanism, and non-discrimination, for better living together.

And if ZEFESTIVAL has every reason to exist, it is because there are two kinds of films, those that pass the time and those that explain the time.
