Zoé Clausure has been chosen to represent France at Junior Eurovision on November 26, 2023, at the Palais Nikaïa in Nice.
The young singer became known by participating in season 7 of The Voice Kids. Then 9 years old, her participation in the singing competition took her to the semi-finals. At just 13, she can already boast of having sung with Amir.
Zoé Clausure will represent France at the Junior Eurovision contest with her song Coeur. For the young teenager, representing France is a source of pride and strength. “I don’t feel like I’m alone for this Eurovision, the fact that it’s in France, I really feel like everyone is next to me,” she declares.
She sings to denounce school bullying. “Coeur is an anthem full of energy and light on school bullying, it’s a song full of hope. I’ve experienced it and I know what it is,” she says.
“Eurovision is an iconic event that grows a little more each year”
For the 21st edition of the contest, 16 nations will be gathered in Nice: Albania, Armenia, Germany, Spain, Estonia, Georgia, Italy, Ireland, North Macedonia, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, and finally France. The winning country organizes the following year’s edition, and on November 11, 2022, in Armenia, it was Lissandro who won the contest. The young man performed his song Oh maman in front of 33 million viewers. He’s not the only French person to have won Junior Eurovision. Two years prior, Valentina had already brought the trophy to France.
“Eurovision is an iconic event that grows a little more each year, helping to showcase our heritage and bring Europe together,” says Alexandra Redde Amiel, the head of the French delegation at Eurovision, director of entertainment, games, and variety at France Télévisions.
To welcome the 16 nations, three hosts will be on stage. Two were revealed today. Laury Thilleman and Olivier Minne will present live on France 2 at 4 PM alongside a “digital ambassador” who will be revealed in a few days. The show, which takes place at the Palais Nikaïa, will be commented on by Stéphane Bern and Clara Lazzari. The young woman from Nice, who represented France in the contest in 2019, is enthusiastic: “It’s going to be a beautiful moment of sharing and full of beautiful memories because it’s what allowed me to become who I am today.”
5,000 spectators are expected at the Palais Nikaïa on November 26.
