Mr. Christian Estrosi, Secretary of State in charge of Overseas Territories and President of the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes, launched “06 en Live” in 2006 to meet the demand of young people. This initiative echoes studies conducted on their cultural preferences, which highlight the importance of music. A real springboard for local groups, “06 en Live” also caters to associations that want a medium-sized venue for concerts.
In 2006, “06 en Live” enabled the organization of 18 concerts at the Nikaïa Palace. Nearly 7,000 spectators attended, and this initiative was renewed this year with 17 scheduled shows. During the first half of 2007, 7,000 spectators came to cheer on leading bands from the European rock scene, such as Naast, the Plasticines, or The Servant.
The upcoming concerts for the end of the year are scheduled for:
– Friday, November 9, with High Tone
– Saturday, November 10, “Noise in Nice” with The V-cious, Paalmer, Emma Tom, Smelly Socks
– Tuesday, November 20, with Black Uhuru and the Abyssinians
– Saturday, December 1, with Candela String Project
– Thursday, December 6, with Stuck in the Sound
The schedule is available online on the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes website, www.cg06.fr.
