The collective TousUnis calls on citizens to participate in a gathering on the quay of the Etats-Unis from 2 pm to 4 pm, in memory of the victims of last November 13 in Paris.
Frédéric Ganneval, the organizer of this collective, explains the motivation behind this demonstration: “After three refusals, we finally obtained authorization to gather in order to pay tribute to the victims of the attacks on a symbolic date, December 13, exactly 1 month after the sad date of last November 13, not forgetting those of January 23 in Paris as well, and all the attacks perpetrated in 2015.”
And he continues: “Beyond this tribute, we are gathering to say that these attacks should not divide us or feed our own fears, otherwise ‘they’ would have won. Instead, they should bring us closer together, because together we are stronger, together we are love, which is the only barrier against barbarity and hatred!!”
Frédéric Ganneval explains how the demonstration will be conducted: “We have already received many messages of support and participation from other associations such as Un Geste pour Tous or Coexister. Johnny Freedom will come to play some love songs with his guitar, we will create a beautiful human chain shaped like a heart that we wish to be as large as possible, and we will share cakes and drinks in exchange for a smile, a hug, or a dance step, etc…”
A civic and fraternal gesture that deserves widespread support.
