Created in August 2000 in Coaraze (Alpes-Maritimes) by the association Le Cadran solaire. This new edition of the Rencontres de lโOlivier offers four traditional singing workshops and four concerts.
They aim to be a crossroads of vocal traditions originating from the olive-growing cultures. Thus, each year they allow for exchanges between artists representing both repertoires foreign to our region and those of the southern Alps.
The Rencontres de lโOlivier allow a wide audience to discover the sung traditions of the Mediterranean basin. This festival focuses on the discovery of emerging talents.
During these Rencontres, the following music genres will be presented: Balkan music (IRFAN), new klezmer music (NOEMI WAYSFELD&BLIK), Neapolitan music (DAMADAKA), and polyphonies from elsewhere (CHET NUNETA).
