16 young people from the Alpes-Maritimes have chosen a military career.

In 2019, 15,000 young people* across the country chose the Army to pave the way for their professional future.

Once the contract is signed, for a period ranging from one to ten years, new recruits undergo:
– either a 12-week basic initial training in a Military Initial Training Center;
– or a 6-month training at the training center of the Paris Fire Brigade;
– once this period is completed, a specialty training begins, which can last from a few weeks to several months depending on the field.

Last Tuesday, a contract signing ceremony for joining the Army was held for 16 individuals from the Maralpin region at the Maison du Combattant and Patriotic Associations.

Presided over by the departmental military delegate of the Alpes-Maritimes, Lieutenant Colonel Philippe BOCQUET, and in the presence of Mr. Maurice ALBERTI, municipal councilor, this symbolic event marked their entry into a military career.

*The term “young people” here refers to those individuals who have made the decision to join the ranks of the army, typically younger individuals starting out in their career paths.

“Maralpins” refers to people from the Alpes-Maritimes region in France.
