The Nice University Hospital (CHU de Nice) is ranked 7th nationally among the best institutions in the Figaro Magazine’s rankings.
This is the result of a successful 2010 certification since the CHU is, to date, with the Lille University Hospital (CHRU de Lille), the only university hospital certified with fewer than four recommendations and without any reservations. The next certification will take place in 2014.
Nearly 1,241 public (525) and private (141 of which are non-profit) healthcare facilities have been thoroughly examined by the Guide de Santรฉ experts. Two categories of ranking: a national ranking dedicated to the organization and general management of care; the other by region-specific centers of excellence targeting 32 different pathologies.
The methodology relies on homogeneous groups of patients whose data is available on the Ministry of Health’s website (www.atih.sante.fr) among others. The selected institutions are those with a V2 and V2010 certification granted by the Haute Autoritรฉ de Santรฉ.
Similarly, the aggregated score for combating nosocomial infections in categories A and B was considered. For cancer care, only institutions authorized by the National Cancer Institute were included.
Pathologies of excellence at the Nice University Hospital ranked in the top 10
1st: stroke (CVA); major colorectal surgery;
2nd: surgery for esophageal and stomach cancer;
4th: retinal surgery; arterial surgery (bypass, angioplasty); spinal surgery (spine and spinal cord);
5th: carotid surgery
8th: thyroid surgery
9th: knee prosthesis
