2022 Presidential Election: One, two, five more years for Emmanuel Macron

Latest News

The outgoing President Emmanuel Macron will be able to continue his “march” for five more years after being re-elected with a score of 58.5% (estimate). A result higher than that predicted by polls, which had forecast 57.57%.

With the result declared, the outgoing and incoming President addressed his supporters gathered at the Champ de Mars, and indirectly all French citizens, to tell them that he would be “the president for all” and promising “a new era” which “will not be a continuation of the five-year term that is ending.”

His opponent Marine Le Pen must settle for an honorable score, 41.5% (estimate), which significantly improves upon the result she achieved in 2017. The RN candidate, for whom Eric Zemmour had urged his first-round voters to cast their votes, described her result as “a resounding victory.” Obviously, she must not align with the theories of the Greek philosopher Pythagoras, for whom “everything is number!”

In her speech after knowing the result, she confirmed her commitment “for France and the French.”

While Emmanuel Macron begins his second five-year term at the end of which he will have to put an end to his political career, at least as President of the Republic, MLP is thus embarking on a path for a fourth candidacy in 2027.
