The CNOSF has been working for many years through its educational program to spread the values of Olympism and, more generally, those of sports among young people and the educational community.
In 2016, as part of Paris 2024’s bid, the Paris 2024 organizing committee, the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of Sports, and the sports movement worked on deploying this program called “The Year of Olympism from School to University,” mobilizing more than 2 million children.
Buoyed by this success and the designation of Paris as the host city of the 2024 Games, all partners wished to renew the initiative.
Thus, the launch of the 2018 edition of the “Olympic and Paralympic Week at School” was formalized.
As an annual event until 2024, this week serves as a highlight between the National School Sports Day in September and Olympic Day in June.
It represents a genuine opportunity for the entire sports movement to build bridges with the educational sector and local stakeholders, thereby promoting access to sports practice and Olympic and Paralympic values.
Thus, from January 27 to February 3, 2018, all students from kindergarten to high school could participate in this initiative through sports introductions, athlete interactions, and Olympism awareness activities within their schools.
