For 50 years, S.O.S Amitié has been listening to people in difficulty or precarious situations.

In Nice, 35 volunteers, men and women of all ages and various backgrounds, are available and supportive to listen to people in crisis or in great psychological or moral difficulty.

On the occasion of its jubilee, S.O.S Amitié is organizing a meeting with sociologist Alain Ehrenberg for a reflection on social suffering.

This free conference is open to everyone, and particularly to all those (charitable associations, various institutions, social and medical services) who listen to people in situations of precariousness and suffering.

The number of people turning to the listening and support services of S.O.S Amitié continues to increase in France. In light of this observation, Christian Estrosi wished to reinforce his commitment to humanitarian associations that work daily for the most vulnerable people.

Thus, the municipality grants the association a subsidy of €4,800 for the year 2010/2011.

The ARS (Regional Health Agency), the General Council, and the Regional Council also support the association, as does the Nice Municipal Social Action Center, which helped organize this conference.

Jean-Pierre Igot, President of the SOS Amitié Federation:
“S.O.S Amitié Nice receives an average of 1,300 calls per month… The association is always seeking goodwill and volunteers.

To help us, here is our address: SOS Amitié Nice — BP 1421 — 06008 NICE CEDEX 1

We have a daily telephone reception, throughout the year, 24/7: 04 93 26 26 26.”
