On Sunday, September 18, the association “Tourism Development of the Roya-Bévéra Valleys” is organizing the 8th event of the “Challenge Trail Nature 06” between the Col de Turini, Sospel, and Menton.
Magnificent trails, breathtaking views of the Mediterranean, passage through the Mercantour National Park, this is what awaits the competitors who will have the choice between three race formats ranging from mountain to sea:
- 53 km, Turini/Sospel/Menton. Start at 8 a.m. from the Col de Turini
Elevation gain: +2700; -4300. Race of the Challenge Trail 06 and qualifier for the 2012 Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc.
- 29 km, Sospel/Menton. Start at 10:30 a.m. from Sospel
Elevation gain: +1750; -2100. Challenge Nature race. -
17 km, Sospel/Menton. Start at 10:35 a.m. from Sospel
Elevation gain: +800; -1150. Challenge Discovery race.
The finish line will be on the Sablettes beach in Menton.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: activities at the General Council stand with free electric bicycle rentals among other things
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., La Rando Nature: a workshop for young and old on building prehistoric spears and throwing in the sand.
