On June 24, 2025, a ceremony was held at the Hรดtel du Dรฉpartement in Nice to award regional, departmental, and municipal medals to 90 agents from the Alpes-Maritimes. This was to recognize years of service within the community.
The ceremony, presided over by Charles Ange Ginรฉsy, took place in the presence of Xavier Beck, First Vice-President of the Department, and Pierrette Alberici, Departmental Councilor. On this occasion, 90 agents were decorated. They consisted of 64 women and 26 men, categorized according to their seniority: 13 received the gold medal (35 years of service), 35 received the vermeil medal (30 years), and 42 received the silver medal (20 years).
Established in 1987, the regional, departmental, and municipal medal recognizes agents for their work and commitment to public interest missions. It represents an official acknowledgment of long and dedicated careers serving the residents.
The Department of Alpes-Maritimes employs more than 4,000 agents. They all work in various fields, often directly linked to the needs of the territories. The maintenance of these services relies heavily on their continuous presence and expertise.
In his speech, Charles Ange Ginรฉsy praised the fundamental role of the agents:
โIt is always with emotion that I welcome the communityโs agents for this ceremony. Today, 90 members of the large family of the Departmental Council, who embody the fundamentals of public service through their loyalty, commitment, and excellence, have received the Departmentโs medal. I know how essential the services they provide to the community are. The DNA of the Department is this territorial solidarity they ensure daily through their work. Thank you to all these women and men. They have my full recognition and are the soul of this beautiful house.โ
The ceremony highlighted the careers of these agents. All of them contributed, through their skills, to the functioning of the departmental public service. This recognition marks a milestone in their professional lives.
