This year, more than 15,000 high school seniors will take their Baccalaurรฉat in the Nice Academy. A majority of them will graduate and enter higher education. This makes the question of choosing a future academic or career path crucial.
Furthermore, among the 50,000 students in the Academy, orientation remains a current topic: some want to change their path or type of training, while others are unsure whether to continue their studies or enter the workforce.
To answer all the questions young people have about higher education orientation, Studyrama is organizing, in collaboration with the Nice Academy Rectorate, the Alpes-Maritimes Academic Inspection, ONISEP, University of Nice Sophia Antipolis (UNSA), the city of Nice, and the PACA region, the sixth Nice higher education Studyrama Fair.
This event, the only departmental student event dedicated to higher education as a whole (both public and private), is aimed at all future high school graduates as well as first, second, and third-cycle students.
More than 300 post-baccalaureate programs will be represented by universities, vocational training certificates (BTS), business and engineering schools, vocational schools, etc. These organizations will have the mission to advise and guide visitors towards the curriculum that suits their level of studies and their specialization.
Fields such as science, industrial technologies, arts, sports, business, management, health, journalism, and the military, among others, will be represented.
Career counselors from the Information and Orientation Centers (CIO) will be available to visitors to provide more in-depth information about the various orientation choices available to them and the career opportunities for each track.
The Regional Youth Information Center (CRIJ) will inform young people about all topics of interest to them: their studies, career choice, professional life, but also their rights, health, and leisure activities.
Student life will also have its place at the fair, with the presence of the Regional Center for University and School Works (CROUS) and student mutual organizations: information on housing, scholarships, student social security, etc.
A series of conferences will take place over these two days (see program below).
Moreover, as part of the Year of Canada in Nice, the Studyrama higher education fair welcomes the Embassy of Canada. This collaboration aims to present the various higher education programs offered by Canadian universities and also provide all the information for those wishing to do an internship or work in Canada.
Canada and France have recently signed an agreement to promote youth mobility. Since 2000, more than 150 people from Nice have gone to pursue all or part of their university courses in Canada.
Other highlights of the fair:
– Hundreds of internship and job offers will be displayed on boards.
– The “Orientation Guides” Point. Each young person can pick up a free copy of The Official Studyrama Guide to Higher Education – Mediterranean Region, an annual magazine dedicated to higher studies in the southeast. Other (national) guides will be freely available on this space focusing on orientation themes (alternance, artistic training, Grandes Ecoles, parallel admissions, third cycles, MBA, etc.).
– A bookstore will be set up.
– BNP Paribas bank will be present: student loans, recruitment of young graduates, etc.
