The Great Success of the Employment Forum in Nice

Latest News

Last Thursday, the Mรฉditerranรฉe hall of the Acropolis palace was transformed into a temple of employment by hosting the first Employment Forum, thereby attracting over 8000 visitors in search of a job contract.

Recent graduates, employees wishing to reorient their careers, or seniors seeking one last experience, all flocked around the hundred or so booths, each offering numerous positions in various fields: construction, mass retail, commerce, or hospitality. Many sectors were present to meet a maximum of candidates and thus collect a multitude of resumes.

Thus, this initial employment forum experienced vigorous success, both among job seekers and businesses. “Itโ€™s an excellent initiative that allows us to meet many candidates and make a first selection. We will then individually receive the profiles that seem most interesting to us,” said Marie, HR manager of a large local retail brand, who will leave the forum with over 150 profiles corresponding to the positions offered by her company.

When is the next forum?

This first edition of the employment forum was a great success, and all participants, both job seekers and companies, were highly satisfied with this initiative.

“It really is an excellent idea, this forum, and I hope that there will be more such events in Nice and the region. It saves time for everyone because we meet directly with the recruiting companies, and they can get a first impression of the candidates. And then, being just a resume can sometimes be detrimental to an application; here, it’s a meeting between people, which is indeed more human,” said Jรฉrรดme, a job seeker for six months, who is thrilled about this forum as it allowed him to more easily approach the HR services of many local companies.

After such a success and while waiting for tangible results from the forum, it is to be hoped that such initiatives will become more frequent. Indeed, it would probably be wise to design more regular meetings between recruiting companies and job seekers. Why not envision thematic meetings focused on specific sectors like construction, hotel and restaurant industry, the medical field, or IT, thus avoiding the tedious recruitment process (advertisements, sorting through CVs, receiving candidates, etc.).

One thing is certain, employment is moving in Nice, and it is certainly pleasing its many seekers!
