As parents of internet-savvy children, you might proudly discuss their online achievements. However, do you know their list of favorite websites, or the files they download daily?
At the dawn of the internet era, numerous children freely browse and surf the vast Internet galaxy, often with little or no control, not even with basic security settings on Windows or other operating systems.
Today, many internet providers offer, for free or at a cost, the possibility to implement precise controls over your precious little ones’ browsing activities. Wanadoo/Orange provides a free software called Securitoo v3, Free has opted for multiple freeware options like Eyekidz, Privosquid, or Freego, while Alice, Numรฉricable, and Noos offer a solution included in the subscription. Only Neuf/Cegetel offers a paid solution at 5 euros per month including taxes.
Search engines, with Google being the most prominent, constitute the majority of web accesses. However, there are numerous other dangers on the www such as email services, discussion forums, or peer-to-peer sites. It’s not rare to find unrelated and inappropriate images when searching on Google images (for example, searching for ‘aline, dogs, woman’ on Google images).
Protecting your computer means protecting your child.
With this slogan, the company Bugbusters, based in Nice, has designed a service to secure both your computer and your internet access. “We are parents and heavy internet users, and so we understand its subtleties and dangers. That’s why we have set up a Parental Control service so that parents can allow their children to surf the web without any risk.”
For a cost of 69 euros, installing and training on the parental control software will allow each parent to regulate the various accesses of their computer and internet connection. For those who have software provided by their internet provider, it will be possible to choose between this version and the one offered by Bugbusters.
Thus, we do not take the safety of our children lightly, and if your computer still does not have parental control software… do not hesitate any longer!
