The first round kicks off this weekend with an initial clash against Lille. A team that ONN had easily dominated in their two regular-season encounters. In the away match, Vincent De Nardi’s girls traveled up north to secure a 15-5 victory. Back in Nice, they also dominated Lille’s team 15-4. Despite these two wins, the Nice-based players are not taking this meeting lightly. “We must not underestimate this Lille team,” warns Eugรฉnie Pirat (player for ONN). “Our first enemy will be ourselves. The fact that we haven’t played for a month only increases our eagerness to get back into the competition.”
A month that allowed the team to prepare well. “We have had good preparation by facing N1 quite regularly,” explains Vincent De Nardi (coach for ONN).
If the Nice women win against Lille, they will face the winner between Nancy and Bordeaux on Sunday. If predictions hold true, we should see a new clash between Nancy and Nice. A duel that will give us a taste of the finals.
