The city of Nice supports the Nice Lawn Tennis Club association, which has created the first Paddle Tennis club in Nice and is organizing an inaugural tournament for the occasion.
This tournament will take place from August 11 to August 13 at the Nice Lawn Tennis Club, located on Suzanne Lenglen Avenue. The final will be held on Sunday, August 13 at 5:00 PM and will be followed by an awards ceremony.
Paddle tennis is an emerging sport, similar to tennis, that is played on a smaller court with a lower net, shorter racquets with a solid but perforated hitting area.
Players serve underhand. The other rules, including point scoring, are the same as in tennis. Padel is mainly popular in the United States as a recreational sport, and there are only about fifty players who participate in high-level competition.
