This week La Note Bleue welcomes the saxophonist and flutist Jan Van Naeltwijck for two evenings of smooth cool jazz. His music is a blend of virtuosity and improvisation, marked by an almost tightrope-like fragility. Ronnie Rae, Alain Asplanato, and Marc Peillon join him for a subtle dance around silence. Following that will be two nights featuring the colors of Brazil with the “Jobim Project” led by bassist Jean-Marc Jaffet. One should expect a delicious moment of bossa-nova infused with sensual Saudade, highlighted by the warm voice of the magnificent Nina Papa. Philippe Dufour excels on the guitar as he interprets the repertoire of the iconic Brazilian composer: Antonio Carlos Jobim.
