What comes to mind when I listen to Nicolas Ghetti’s latest album? Here’s finally a real “Serial Singer”!!
Nicolas Ghetti is not just another name in the currently oversaturated world of twee pop-folk. Nicolas Ghetti is simply an artist.
A complete artist in the truest sense of the word, already with several albums to his credit, and huge appeal! Not only in the voice, which is rather deep and harmoniously laid over downright catchy tunes. A confident voice, subtly but surely spread, with light touches amidst “westernizing” melodies that invite us on a beautiful musical journey through the 11 tracks that mark this great album.
In the title alone, a thousand promises! “I Want Beauty”, yes, Nicolas surely wants beauty, but he does not hesitate to offer us beauty, and very beautiful beauty at that, in a modern Western style, without fuss, without overload, and especially without flaw. Clean, precise, cutting-edge. Like when Nicolas Ghetti offers me a breathtaking view of “My City” with its raw, stark, and uncompromising side that I, a 30-year-old woman, had not really seen, passing on my way scores of “Metrosexuals” far less glamorous than the angelic Nicolas.
Without a doubt, Nicolas Ghetti is an angel, perhaps even the last of the famous bay bordering “Nissa la Bella”, and he claims it, with high words, a charming gaze, and a sharp guitar, master of the woes he offers us. So do not hesitate, because to listen to the enchanting song of the eagle from Nice transformed for an album into a one-man band, is to adopt him. And that is simply talent!
