While Hollywood stars walk the steps of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, Entr’2 Marches will make way for wheelchair wheels to present the 9th edition of its International Film Festival on the theme of disability.

Since 2010, “Entr’2 Marches” has been held alongside the famous Cannes Festival and highlights disability through short films, either because they address the theme or because the actors or directors have disabilities.

The jury is composed of people (professionals or amateurs) with different types of disabilities.

“The International Entr’2 Marches Festival aims to give a place of honor to people with disabilities, so that they no longer feel like victims, but actors in their lives and the public sphere (…) It is the first short film festival in Cannes organized by individuals with disabilities to showcase a different perspective on disability.” Dominique Veran – President and founder of the festival.

Initiated in 2010 by four members from the Cannes branch of APF France handicap, Entr’2 Marches once again this year opens the competition to 19 nationalities through 39 short films, both professional and amateur, each lasting a maximum of 26 minutes and all related to some form of disability.

With films that are at times moving, at others funny, but all leaving no one indifferent, the Entr’2 Marches festival offers the city of Cannes and the
French Riviera a new awareness and perspective on difference.

The programming is directed by Stéphane Bullot, who has devoted many years to film and audiovisual production, as well as supporting people with disabilities. While in 2010, there were 29 films entered in the competition, today for its 9th edition, 90 nationalities across nearly 700 films have wished to compete at the Entr’2 Marches festival 2018.
