In Nice, medical students feel betrayed.

Nevertheless, at the last meeting between Mrs. Pécresse and the ANEMF (National Association of Medical Students in France), which took place last Thursday, it was clarified by the Minister that the LCA (Clinical Aptitude Test) will be reinstated in the ECN 2008.

It is unacceptable for fifth-year students to have to undergo this test, which undermines equality of opportunity in the ECN 2008 (a national ranking exam that will allow them to choose their city of practice and their specialty), that is in less than a year.

Moreover, given the excellent results of students from Nice in the ECN (second-best city in France), it is not advisable for them to undergo the LCA test, which has arbitrary grading (up to 40% difference between two markers) and almost no standard topics have been presented by the committee in charge of writing the topics (CNCI).

The medical students in Nice began a peaceful blockade of the university library last night in order to continue working there in the evening, preventing its closure, to show that they are not lazy but rather committed to the principles of fairness and solidarity.

This claim is not typically from Nice, as other forms of mobilizations are taking place in many medical faculties, especially since there is a great disparity in the teachings across these faculties.
