What?
It’s a photo contest open to everyone, amateurs and professionals of all ages. Participants use their own cameras – film or digital as they choose.
The event was initiated in Nice by the Sept off, following the model of PhotoMarathons in Copenhagen, Montpellier, Cardiff, Glasgow, Prague, Rotterdam, Berlin, etc.
When?
Saturday, September 26, 2009, from 9 AM to 9 PM.
Where?
In downtown Nice. Starting point: MUSEAAV – 16 Place Garibaldi. A day tram pass is given to all participants to travel around Nice.
Themes
12 themes announced throughout the day (9 AM, 1 PM, 5 PM) at the Museaav.
Deadline for registration
Wednesday, September 23, 2009: registration form downloadable from www.7off-marathon.org or to be collected at JJ photo – 2 descente du Marché – Vieux Nice accompanied by a participation fee check of 15€ and a photocopy of an identity card.
Conditions for participation
2 possible techniques: film or digital but a single contest.
Film: Take 12 photos in 12 hours on 12 assigned themes using a 12-exposure film (provided) – one shot per theme – exposed film to be submitted to the organizers no later than September 26 at 9:30 PM.
Digital: Take 12 photos in 12 hours on 12 assigned themes in jpeg format – one shot per theme – the 12 photo files (resolution 1000×1500 pixels) to be sent via Internet on the PhotoMarathon site no later than September 26 at 10 PM.
Number of participants limited to 200. Registration fee 15 €. Full rules available on www.7off-marathon.org.
Prizes and Awards
One winning photo per theme and the top three photographers rewarded.
