From December 8, 2006, to January 1, 2007, every day from 11 am to 8 pm, at the Forum Massรฉna, the village gathers about fifty chalets housing a wide range of crafts primarily based on Christmas products.
This year, for the first time, about fifteen designers from Nice whose work is associated with major international names in design, fashion, and haute couture are present. Some names: Jacqueline Morabito, Sylvie T, Stรฉphanie Marin, Merry Christal, or Parmi les Fleursโฆ (attached list) For the occasion, they present creations related to this festive period.
In the center of the village, a large ice rink welcomes experienced skaters or beginners during 4 sessions of an hour and a half (5 โฌ skates included, bring gloves and identity card) each day -11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm, and 5 pm-. These sessions are animated by Nice Cรดte dโAzur Skating.
In a winter decor setting the tone for the festivities, walkers discover the forest of fir trees and the numerous shows and events organized by the City of Nice. On weekends, Wednesdays, and during school holidays, every day, theater, ice sculptor, bubble disco, games, and face painting follow one another in the heart of Forum Massรฉna. Santa Claus will mark this rendezvous with his presence (details attached).
Children can also enjoy a play area set up in Jardin Albert 1er, featuring a Ferris wheel, rides, and inflatable structures.
A major event will take place from December 15 to 27: the exhibition of the first tramway car. The residents of Nice can discover their future means of transport: visits and events will celebrate this long-awaited arrival.
The illumination of the traditional Christmas tree, offered by Sweden as a symbol of their communityโs attachment to the Cรดte dโAzur, will take place on December 14 at 5:30 pm during the celebration of St. Lucyโs Day, in the presence of the Swedish Consul. Standing 15 meters tall, it will be decorated this year by the Swedish company IKEA.
On Sunday, December 17, from 11 am to 5 pm, the “Day of the Upper Nice Country” will be held on the Promenade des Anglais and around the Music Kiosk, a rendezvous with sheep, goats, horses, and cows that will give the city a pastoral feeling where loggers and old tractors, woodcutters and shepherds, producers, and artisans will offer animations, tastings, or sales of local products. This day is organized with the support of the Regional Council and the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes.
