The debate was very lively, even passionate, and concluded with a vote: 108 votes in favor of the “regional” scenario versus 58 for the “departmental” scenario, which was notably supported by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nice Cรดte dโAzur.
The principles that were adopted yesterday will need to be worked on and clarified in order to present a proposal to the government by mid-February 2009. The President of CCI Nice Cรดte dโAzur will participate in this working group.
In a month and a half, significant progress has been made thanks to the mobilization of many CCIs, including that of Nice Cรดte dโAzur:
– The maintenance of the status of local CCI public establishments (maintenance of the legal entity of local CCIs).
– Full capacity to manage schools. The CCI Nice Cรดte dโAzur manages the CERAM Business School, the International School of Nice…
– Full capacity to manage training and apprenticeship centers.
– Full capacity to manage concessions (the management of the 4 ports of Nice, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Cannes, and Golfe-Juan is currently provided by the CCI of Nice Cรดte dโAzur).
The CCI Nice Cรดte dโAzur continues to mobilize so that the 5th largest metropolitan area in France receives the specific treatment it deserves in this regional reform.
