Latest News

The purpose of this ideas competition is to foster projects and actions for a greener, cleaner, calmer, more energy-efficient, and more accessible city for all: a city that imagines its environment of tomorrow. On Monday, January 17, 2011, the association Azzura Lights, awarded during this ideas competition, will launch its project “Sustainable Energy for All.”

Fifty projects (divided into 3 categories) selected by a specially formed jury received technical assistance or financial aid ranging from โ‚ฌ1,000 to โ‚ฌ3,000.

The Winning Project:

In 2010, the association Azzura Lights, responding to the call for projects of the environmental awards organized by the city of Nice, received a grant of 3,000 euros to carry out its project “Sustainable Energy for All.” This was successfully completed thanks to close collaboration between: Azzura Lights; Cรดte dโ€™Azur Habitat; P@je Association; the Deputy Directorate of the Environment of Renewable Energy and the Sea of the City; the Directorate of Urban Policy and Social Cohesion; the Directorate of Urban Renewal; the Directorate of Habitat and Unis Citรฉ.

The Concept: Design a box (the Ecology Box) containing a water saver, a low-voltage bulb, and a guide in the form of a comic strip to raise awareness among residents of sensitive neighborhoods about energy savings.

This energy-saving awareness action is part of the Proximity Urban Management’s efforts to educate residents of the Pasteur neighborhood (buildings owned by Cรดte dโ€™Azur Habitat and Logis Familiale) on the cleanliness of their neighborhood.

During this presentation, “Ecology Box” kits were distributed to families, followed by the first training session for the residents.
