Monaco Circus: Protests by the Animal Collective 06 and Public Demonstration

Latest News

The Animal Collective 06, like the associations PETA and One Voice, believes that “The circus is fun but not for everyone.” Life imprisonment, isolation, constant scrutiny without the possibility of escape, beatings, humiliation, and submission are not a life for animals.

What have they done to deserve these punishments?

“Caged, chained, and forced to work when the boss demands it” “their life: from the cage to the ring and from the ring to the cage!” None of these places are compatible with their biological needs as required by Monegasque law. The French Environmental Code and Rural Code say the same thing.

Animal stereotypy is one of the expressions of their distress. Princess Stรฉphanie of Monaco, with whom we tried to engage in debate, “finds the debate on animals ridiculous” (Nice-Matin, January 20, 2011, page 14).

We will therefore again express our indignation at the Franco-Monegasque border on the Basse Corniche on January 29 and 30, from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM, to defend the cause of wild animals that the Monte Carlo International Circus Festival and its President wrongly use as entertainment animals.

Some circuses, such as “Cirque du Soleil,” have eliminated this animal mistreatment.

For Animal Collective 06,
