Six Nations Rugby: France-Scotland

DEJA VU….

By defeating Scotland, the French team reassured itself after the Australian debacle last autumn.
The anticipated trap did not ultimately close, and the French, full of goodwill, seemed to rediscover the virtues that enabled them to achieve the Grand Slam in 2010: conquests, defense, and counter-attacking play. However, the inconsistency they displayed makes us think that we are in a period of recovery.

Indeed, the lack of concentration, particularly on Scotland’s second try, is unacceptable at the international level and shows that this team has still not regained its bearings.

In terms of offensive playmaking, no real progress was noted. The few set plays and positioning errors led to too many handling mistakes. We cannot just rely on defending; we will indeed have to be capable of imposing our rhythm by relying on a much more precise system of play.
Wait and see, as our “friends” the English say.
